The American Cancer Society is constantly striving to lower administrative costs through effective accounting, personnel and management practices.

Fundraising
The American Cancer Society's fundraising costs are among the lowest of any non-profit organization, and we always meet the standards set by the National Charities Information Bureau.

Prevention, Detection and Treatment
The New England Division focuses on those areas of cancer control where we can have the greatest impact: breast cancer, prostate cancer, tobacco use prevention and school health education.

Patient Services
The New England Division Call Center provides cancer patients and their families with assistance to ease the burden of cancer, through support groups and visitation programs, information and referral.

Advocacy
The American Cancer Society realizes that some issues related to cancer can be impacted only through legislative or policy change. Volunteer advocates work at the federal, state and local level to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients by advocating for clean indoor air, insurance coverage for cancer treatments, research funding and more.

Volunteerism
The American Cancer Society is a volunteer-driven organization, that combines the resources and talents of thousands of dedicated individuals from all walks of life. To learn more about how you can be a lifesaver in your local community, call The American Cancer Society at 1-800-ACS-2345.
